The Columbia-area branch of America's premiere trout fishing organization. Trout Unlimited is dedicated to protecting, restoring, and sustaining America's rivers and streams. The Saluda River Chapter is involved in protecting and maintaining the Lower Saluda trout fishery produced by the cold water which comes from the bottom of Lake Murray. The fishery begins below the dam and continues down to the confluence of the Saluda and Broad Rivers at the Gervais Street Bridge. The Saluda River Chapter also supports and helps fund conservation activities on trout streams in the upstate. The organization holds monthly meetings and its current president is Luke McCary. | |

The Lugoff Bassmasters is a group of bass fishermen looking for new members. Both boaters and non-boaters are welcome. They meet for fellowship and dinner, followed by a meeting, at Plum's Restaurant in Lugoff at 6:00 PM the Thursday before each tournament. Tournaments are approximately once a month - please see the Tournament Information page for more information. Scheduled 2008 tournaments include: 1. Lake Wylie= Feb 24. 2. Christian Angler's Striper Trail (CAST)

CAST will be holding striped bass tournaments on the Saturday following the last Friday of each month. Tournaments will be held on Lake Murray and Clark's Hill (Lake Thurmond). The purpose of the new organization will be for Christian fellowship, reaching the un-churched and providing a Christian atmosphere for striper fishing. While many churches offer men and women the opportunity to participate in a Christian bass fishing organization, this is the first striped bass organization of its kind. The first tournament will be held on Saturday, March 1 at Lake Murray. On Friday night, prior to the tournament, an organizational/club meeting will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina. National Bass Circuit (NBC) |
The National Bass Circuit tournament is "the most lucrative team bass circuit in the nation." The trail offers tournaments around South Carolina and the Southeast to amateur and professional anglers. Anglers have the chance to move onto the championships and compete for a Skeeter/ Yamaha boat package worth over $84,000 simply by fishing the one-day Saturday tournaments. Coastal Conservation Assocation South Carolina (CCA- SC)

CCA's South Carolina Chapter is a non-profit grass-roots organization dedicated to the conservation of the Palmetto State’s marine resources. Organized nearly twenty years ago by a group of concerned recreational fishermen, CCA South Carolina (then ACCA) has been instrumental in outlawing gill-nets in state waters, establishing redfish, trout, and tarpon as game fish, fought for the establishment of a saltwater fishing license that has generated millions of dollars for marine resources, and much, much more. Its members and volunteers are actively involved with every discussion that takes place regarding marine fisheries in South Carolina and beyond. Striper Kings is a Greenville-based striped bass fishing group. The club is over 25 years old and has approximately 300 members. They fish a 13 tournament trail on Lakes Hartwell, Murray and Thurmond - see the tournament page for dates. Every other tuesday night the group meets at Carolina Fine Foods in Simpsonville at 7:30 pm.The cost to join is $60.00 and $10.00 to renew each year. Striper Kings' President is Ronnie Sims. |

The Five Lakes Fishing Club is a black bass fishing club whose members are primarily fisherman from the Greenwood, South Carolina area. They fish 5 lakes twice a year: Greenwood, Russell, Clarks Hill, Murray and Hartwell. At the end of the season, they hold an awards banquet and crown a points champion. They also award prize money to the top twenty in club points. The Five Lakes Fishing Club has around 75 boats fishing its tournaments, but they are also accepting new members. The Carolina Angler's Team Trail is a black bass tournament series. Their South Carolina Spring Tournament Series features tournaments in February through May on Lakes Murray, Wateree, and Wylie, and each series is capped off with a Spring Final. The Midlands Striper Club is a family-oriented fishing club organized to stimulate public awareness of striped bass fishing. They promote sportmanship, conservation and demand adequate water quality, and are based in Columbia, S.C. on beautiful Lake Murray. Tournaments are held on the third Saturday of each month, with times following safe light conditions. July is usually a night tournament beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. and ending Saturday at 10:00 a.m. They have a Youth Tournament and a Ladies Tournament annually.
